Our research methods
At Porchey Research Inc. we employ qualitative and quantitative research methods designed to meet the individual wants and needs of our clients.
Qualitative.
These research methods probe in depth what people believe, why they feel as they do and how deeply held those beliefs are. Most often, we feature. . .
- Focus group sessions (triads of three, mini groups of five or six, and more traditional groups of eight to 10), and
- One-on-one interviews (in person or by phone).
Focus groups and one-on-one personal interviews make up a substantial portion of our firm's work. Porchey Research Inc. has conducted more than 3,500 focus groups and one-on-ones, and this area represents a key strength of our firm.
Our clients find these sessions especially valuable in helping identify issues to be examined through a follow-up written questionnaire, determining opinions regarding products or services, or providing guidelines for follow-up actions.
Quantitative.
Our quantitative methods provide numerical results through a carefully crafted sample and yield statistically reliable findings that can be projected across a larger population.
Most often, we feature these quantitative approaches.
- Telephone interviews,
- Mail surveys,
- E-mail studies, and
- Computer surveys.
Porchey Research Inc. has extensive experience in conducting quantitative research on a wide range of topics. Using a variety of methods that are tailored to clients' individual wants and needs, we provide accurate statistical results you can "take to the bank."
Our staff is skilled in a variety of analysis techniques involving cross tabulations of data, correlations, factor analysis, regressions and multivariate evaluations.
